Social Program

We RASKiers are a social group.  Our program includes the popular fall and spring hikes,  frequent pub nights, bike outings, theatre-in-the-park, a skating party and other events. Please check the schedule below for details.  The schedule is updated as events are planned.

Hikes

Most of our hikes occur in the fall, with a few in the spring, mainly to Gatineau Park destinations, with some Greenbelt and some urban hikes.
Please check the RA ski club calendar for meeting places and start times, and contact the SNOWPHONE (736-6235) prior to each hike in case of updates.

Biking

We do day trips from late spring to early fall. Most are on the bike paths in the Ottawa area. We also have remote start bike trips, such as the Long Sault Parkway and the 1000 Islands Parkway, both along the St. Lawrence River. We are also starting to do multi-day trips. In 2017, a group did the Petit Train du Nord from Mont Laurier to St-Jerome over 4 days. In 2018, we did an overnight along the 1000 Islands Parkway, from just west of Brockville to just east of Gananoque. Note that we bike fairly leisurely and take time to smell the flowers.

If you're training for the Olympics, there are a number of other bike clubs that would suit you better.

We've put Cycling Safety Guidelines on our website.

Pub Nights

Pub nights are held at the Fieldhouse Bar and Grill in the RA Centre.  Pub nights generally start at 7:30 PM.
