Hiking Schedule

Thurs. April 24, 2025 – 10:30 a.m. Rockcliffe Rockeries & Great Canadians/Beechwood Cemetery Tour – 7 km.  Meet at P4 parking lot, Sir George Étienne Parkway.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/5AL3ZPUSWiNJhz9G8   We’ll hike on trails along McKay lake east shoreline, up into the grounds of Beechwood cemetery to see spring flowers and visit final resting places of notable Canadians, back along the west shoreline of McKay lake and into the Rockliffe Rockeries. Note that washroom facoilities at the start/finish have not opened for the season but are available at the 3.5km mark. Post hike Cafe stop TBD. Email hikes-2025@raski.ca if you plan on attending.

MEET: 10:30 a.m. at the RA Centre, East Parking lot. We will walk east along the Rideau River pathway to Hurdman bridge. After crossing the bridge, we will head back to the RA centre via the Rideau River trail (north side of the river). 9 km round trip.  Lunch spot TBD.  Please confirm your planned attendance by email to hikes-2025@raski.ca

We'll tour the Governor-General's residence.  Hopefully the greenhouses will be open as well. After we'll have lunch at the Tavern at the Falls.

The Gatineau Culture Trail is an urban pathway that connects outdoor artworks, points of interest and exhibition and entertainment spaces. Lunch at Museum of History cafeteria. Parking - $13 daily maximum at Museum. (5 km.)
