Biking Schedule

Meet at Richcraft Rec Centre, 4101 Innovation Drive, Kanata for a cycle to KIN Winery in Carp.  Lunch at the winery.  Total distance - 24 km.

Enjoy a beautiful bike trail along the Ottawa River to Petrie Island in Orleans. (distance - 24 km. return). Meet at 10:30 a.m. at Parking Lot 27 along Sir George Etienne Parkway (near Green's Creek).  Bring a picnic lunch to eat at Petrie Island.

Friday July 18th - 10:30 a.m.  (re-scheduled from Thursday July 17 due to weather)

 BIKE from Chelsea to Old Sawmill Rd. via old rail line which is now a bike path along the Gatineau River. 

Return trip on same route - approx 22km roundtrip distance.

Washrooms & water stations are available at the Meredith Centre. Bring a picnic lunch, water and sunscreen.

Note: there are no washroom facilities on the rail trail.

Sat. July 26th is Roger's 4th attempt this year to schedule the famous RODDLE bike outing.  This will be an easy bike ride (approx. 20 km.) along the St. Lawrence River.  Meet at Osgoode Township Museum, 7814 Lawrence St. in Vernon, ON at 10:30 a.m.  We will tour the museum, which survives on donations, and then proceed on to Morrisburg Public Dock where we will have a picnic lunch.  Bring a lawn chair to enjoy the park.  After lunch we will ride the quiet Lakeshore Drive beside the river for 10 km. and return along the same route.  Following this, a refreshment stop make take place at the McIntosh Country Inn.

Wear a bright shirt, bring your helmet, picnic lunch, lots of water, a lawn chair, some $ and your smile.  See you then.

Meet at 10:30 a.m. at Bakker's General Store, 1004 Manotick Station Rd., Manotick Station.  We will stop for a snack/lunch break at No Go Coffee Co., 5488 Osgoode Main St., Osgoode, taking Osgoode Link Pathway (13 km.) Returning same route with side visit to SunTech Greenhouses. The pathway has an interesting story that involves Al Capone & J. Edgar Hoover but you will need to come on the ride to hear all about it :-)

WALK - AMBASSADORS' HOMES IN ROCKCLIFFE

MEET: 10:00 a.m. at Glen's house

Our RA Ski Club spies have uncovered a secret map showing where many of the ambassadors to Canada live. We'll walk to Rockcliffe Village and see where their homes are.  After, we'll have lunch at the Tavern at the Falls.  Total distance: 8 km.

On Wed. Sept. 17th meet at the Russell Curling Club - 1076 Concession St., Russell, ON (main street of Russell) at 10:30 a.m. for a short cycle along the Prescott Russell Bike Trail.  This will be followed by a barbeque lunch and drinks at Gord Chamberlains' home.   Leader:  Gord Chamberlain
