Downhill skiers are invited to join the cross-country folks on a weekend outing at Val-David, in the Laurentians about an hour's drive north of Montreal. While the cross-country skiers ski at Parc regional Dufresne (formerly the Far Hills & Val-David XC ski areas), downhillers can ski at one of the nearby hills (Tremblant is a half-hour away, Mont Blanc 25 minutes, St. Sauveur 20 minutes, Chanteclair 15 minutes, and Belle Neige 10 minutes).  Or, alpine skiers can do one day of downhill and one day of cross-country.   Parc Regional Dufresne is one of the most scenic cross-country ski centres in Quebec.  The 130 km of trails (80 km groomed), offer excellent skiing for all levels of ability. Most trails are double-tracked, and many have an additional skating lane. Some of the trails were cut by the legendary Jackrabbit Johannsen!
